Lakhisarai, April 26: Eight persons were injured in a clash between prisoners and jail guards in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district over a petty issue, police sources said.
The clash broke out after prisoners assaulted jailer Dharmendra Kumar and some prison guards following their objection to prisoners plucking a mango from a tree in the jail premises, sources said.
The prison guards retaliated and beat up the prisoners, they said.
In all, eight persons, comprising prisoners and a prison guard Baijnath Mishra sustained injuries in the clash, the sources said, adding the injured were admitted to the district hospital for treatment, sources said.
Both parties have lodged FIR against each other at Nagar police station, they added.
