New Delhi: After an emergency meeting held yesterday evening, Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed Bukhari retracted from his earlier decision and on the basis of Ruet-e-Hilal Committees’ reports from various cities, announced that Eid ul Adha will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 22.
On the other hand Sunni Markazi Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Masjid Fatehpuri, Delhi also announced in its press release that Eid-ul Adha will be celebrated on August 22.
Meanwhile keeping in view the contradictions in Ruet-e-Hilal, Shahi Imam has announced to hold a meeting of a delegation of scholars, as the meeting of all scholars was organised on all India level in 2006. Similar meeting would be convened in the month of October.
