PM Modi’s #SelfieWithDaughter campaign against female infanticide is top on the global trends but Ehsan Jafri’s daughter shared something on Facebook with a very dark past which gave a very heartrending twist to the entire campaign, a chilling reminder that Gujarat always remembers.
Ehsan Jafri was a former Congress MP, who was brutally murdered in the infamous Gulbarg society massacre on 28 February, 2002along where 69 Muslims by a Hindu mob and his house was burnt down.
Nishrin Jafri Hussain shared a picture with her late father, along with a caption that was short, but hard hitting.
It read: “SelfieWithDaughter: This one will haunt him for ever…”
The post has gone viral on social media platforms, with 1,798 shares on FB.
Although she didn’t mention Modi’s name, it’s not very difficult to understand who the ‘him’ referred to by Nishrin is.
Ehsan Jafri’s widow Zakia Jafri accused the Gujarat police and the then CM Narendra Modi for being complicit in the action by turning a blind eye to the riotous mob.
However, the Special Investigation Team probing the case gave a clean chit to Narendra Modi government.
