Guntur, December 01: The YSR Congress leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has faced an unhappy situation during his ‘Odarpu Yatra’ in this district Wednesday night.
Jagan has reached Mutluru village under Vatticherukuru mandal at around 10 pm and started addressing the people from a dais erected there. Some youth have hurled eggs from the terrace of a house. Some eggs hit Jagan who was shocked at the development. There was commotion, and tension mounted, forcing the police to resort to lathi charge to bring the situation to normal. Some people who were not connected with the incident were injured in the lathi charge. They protested saying that the police, instead of catching those who hurled eggs, had beaten them up unnecessarily.
Jagan has camped in the village for the night after the public meeting. Victims went to the place and expressed their protest over police beating them unnecessarily.
