Efforts on to restore Saudi Airlines flights for Hajj pilgrims

Both the governments have decided to make representation with the centre to restore Saudi Airlines flights for Hajj pilgrims of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Special Officer Hajj Committee, Prof. S A Shukoor met Secretaries of Minority Welfare of both the states and informed about the decision of Central Hajj Committee regarding departure of pilgrims. Central Hajj Committee has selected Air India flights for departure of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh pilgrims while the pilgrims of united Andhra Pradesh have been leaving since 2002 through Saudi Airlines.

Prof. S A Shukoor told that if both the states try for this, Saudi Airlines flights can be restored. Special Secretary Minority welfare Telangana Syed Omer Jaleel and Secretary Minority Welfare Andhra Pradesh Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal have agreed to the proposal and have decided to take the matter to central government and Ministry of Civil Aviation.
