Efforts on to battle water crisis in Jharkhand: Munda

Ranchi, March 13: Chief Minister Arjun Munda today admitted Jharkhand is reeling under an acute water crisis but said efforts are on to bail people of the state out of the situation.

“It is true that there is acute water shortage in the state but the government is not sleeping. It is battling the crisis on a war footing,” he told reporters here.

Both long and short term measures have been taken to deal with the crisis, the Chief Minister said and assured that all out efforts will be made by his government to make drinking water available to people.

Accusing successive governments at the Centre of being indifferent to the state, Munda said Jharkhand still has to share the water of its rivers with Bihar, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh.
