Efforts for 3-member committee in WB receives jolt

Efforts for formation of a 3-member committee in Waqf Board keeping in view the absence of a special officer received jolt on Thursday when Andhra Pradesh government opposed the formation of the committee. Sending a letter to Special Secretary Minority Welfare Telangana Syed Omer Jaleel, incharge Secretary Minority Welfare Andhra Pradesh Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal declared the formation of 3-member committee for Waqf Board as unacceptable for Andhra Pradesh. He told that the process of division of Waqf Board is in final phase hence Telangana government does not have right to take one-sided decision regarding the board. As per section 75 of the Andhra Pradesh reorganisation bill 2014 mutual consultation and unanimity of both the governments are required to take any decision.
