Calling for education to be made employment-centric, Rajasthan Governor today said employment- based courses with management skills must be prioritised and universities should play a creative role in this direction.
Addressing the 5th convention of Rajasthan Technical University, Governor Kalyan Singh said change and improvement in technical courses and curriculum is the demand and need of the times.
Stress needs to be laid on higher technical education, research and innovation, Singh said, adding, universities must play a responsible role in the making of a society and should keep in pace with the global educational environment to meet the dreams of youth.
The governor also said universities must keep an eye over incidents of ragging.
Singh said university education is not meant only for landing a government job buit the need of the hour is to impart education according to the needs of time.
The governor praised Kota city for making a name as an industrial city and an education hub, and said the technical university should define an important role of its own here.
