Education in Mother Tongue, contributes to more growth

Strongly upholding her decision to remove German language from the curriculum of KV school, the HRD Minister emphasized on teaching in Mother tongue language.

The Centre is working on a New Comprehensive National Education Policy with special focus on empowering youth and enhancing their skills.

Participating in the first World Hindu Congress, Irani said that “the children who get education in their own language contribute more to the country growth. “A survey carried out by Microsoft in 22 countries revealed that, when a person reads and writes in one’s own language, it leads to better GDP growth,” the Union minister said.

She said “students from Classes VI to VIII will have the option of picking any Indian language instead of Sanskrit. “If a student wishes to take Tamil as the third language, we will ensure a Tamil teacher.
