Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, CM of AP established contacts with the district collectors through a video conference held yesterday in secretariat. He instructed them to give top priority to the departments of Education, Health, Agriculture, and Electricity.
He pointed out that the total number of students studying in Govt. Schools is 56 lakh. They are being provided school uniforms with an expenditure of Rs. 200 crore. Textbooks are also being supplied to them. He wished the collectors to make “School Fortnight” a success by admitting more students into schools.
He gave instructions to the officials of Education department to complete the tasks of distribution of Textbooks and the supply of school uniforms before 15th July 2012. He pointed out that as per the reports published in newspapers at some places, textbooks and school uniforms have not yet been supplied even though schools have reopened 15 days back. It is, therefore, necessary to attend to all such complaints.
Referring to Agriculture sector, he said that “Crop Loans” are being sanctioned to the farmers. For this year, a target of Rs. 52.70 crore has been allocated. Govt. is paying the interest on these loans. He said that there is no shortage of seeds and fertilizers. Despite this, there are complaints which should be removed. He instructed the officials to keep the newsmen informed at least every alternate day. He informed that last year 11.5 lakh quintal seeds were supplied to the farmers. He warned those businessman who create artificial shortage of seeds and fertilizers. Farmers were provided a subsidy of 10.68 crore last year for this purpose.
He instructed the officials of electricity to attend to the complaints of disruption of electric supply. He told the officials of medical and Health department to fill up the vacant posts. He instructed them to provide better ambulance services through 104 and 108 buses. He informed that it has been decided to purchase 70 new buses to make these services more effective.
Present on this occasion were Mr. K. Murali, Minister for Medical Education, Mr. C. Rama Chandraiah, Minister for Hindu Endowment, Dr. J. Geetha Reddy, Minister for Heavy Industries, Mr. D. Prasada Rao, Minister for Roads and Buildings, Mr. Pankaj Dwivedi, Chief Secretary and other officials.
