Hyderabad: Enforcement Directorate (ED) authorities on Wednesday conducted raids at four locations in Hyderabad in the Tablighi Jamaat money laundering case and conducted searches at two locations in city. The searches were part of the nationwide operation across India.
According to the sources teams of Enforcement Directorate have raided the Hyderabad Markaz of Tablighi Jamaat at Mallepally in Habeeb Nagar and also at Idare Millia in Old Malakpet.
After the outbreak of COVID-19 across India, the Hyderabad police have filed six cases against the foreign members of Tablighi Jamaat in Asifnagar, Habeebnagar, Chaderghat, Ramgopalpet police stations for allegedly violating the foreigner’s act, however the Jamaat members have moved Telangana High Court against the cases.
On Wednesday the ED had carried out a nationwide search operation across India including Mumbai, Delhi.
It must be remembered that the ED is probing the source of funding — both at home and abroad for the Tablighi Jamaat Markaz, which was held at Nizamuddin in south Delhi between March 13 and 16 amid the early days of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) outbreak in the country.
