The CBI Special Court on Tuesday gave its nod for the Enforcement Directorate to conduct probe against accused in Obulapuram Mining Corporation’s illegal mining scam, Emaar Properties and disproportionate assets case of YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy.
The Special Court while giving permission to the Enforcement Directorate to initiate the probe, asked the agency it to complete the same within 15 days. Following directions from the court, the ED would launch investigations against Nimmagadda Prasad, senior bureaucrat Brahmananda Reddy and B P Acharya in connection with disproportionate assets case of Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The ED would also probe against Gali Janardhan Reddy’s brother-in-law BV Srinivasa Reddy, former bureaucrats Y Srilakshmi and Rajagopal in connection with OMC mining case.
The special court also permitted the ED to question against B P Acharya, Koneru Prasad, Sunil Reddy and Vijay Raghav in connection with Emaar Properties scam. The court said that the ED should question all the accused in the presence of lawyers between 10 am to 5 pm and should not resort to third degree methods during questioning. (INN)
