The Entrepreneurship Cell (ECell) IIT Bombay conducted a workshop in Hyderabad in the name of ENVOYAGE on 4th of January in Institute of Management Technology, Hyderabad, to reach out to students in Hyderabad and make them aware about entrepreneurship and how it shouldn’t be confused with other job options, the ECell had a session on “Basics of Entrepreneurship” by Mr. Murali Bukkapatnam, President of TiE Hyderabad Chapter and an active angel investor with Hyderabad Angels. A serial entrepreneur and an enthusiastic personality dedicated to developing a vibrant ecosystem for entrepreneurs in Hyderabad, Murali Bukkapatnam is the CEO & Co-Founder of Domestic Workforce Pvt. Ltd. spoke about how he couldnt work with his father and started to work on his own. He spoke about the problems he faced in his startup. The attendees then asked him about how to raise funding and cash flow in startups.
The session was followed by a fun filled game Stock Exchange Xtravaganza aimed at teaching audiences the nuances of optimization as well as the flickering of the Stock Market. Stock Exchange Xtravaganza is a simplified Stock Market.
The finale of the event was the Business Quiz. B.Naveen Kumar and S.Anand Babu of ICRA college won the city eliminations of the biz- quiz and got a direct entry into the finals to be held at the Entrepreneurship Summit, 2014 and will compete for prizes worth 1 Lakh Re.
The worshop was attended enthusiastically by 150 students of 30 colleges across Hyderabad.
These workshops are being conducted in 25 cities across India to aware students and give them an experience on entrepreneurship and will conclude in the Entrepreneurship Summit which will be held on 1st and 2nd of February in IIT Bombay. Its a student oriented festival in which eminent people like Mr. Kanwal Rekhi (CEO, Inventus Capital), Muhammad Yunus (founder of Grameen Bank, recipient of The Nobel Peace Prize), Mr. Nandan Nilekani (Chairman, UIDAI), have spoken in the past. Its a confluence of several competitions, workshops, panel discussions and speaker sessions and attempts to provide the attendees a holistic exposure to entrepreneurship.
The Entrepreneurship Summit ’14 has got UN patronage which is UNESCO’s highest form of support granted to demonstrate the Organization’s moral endorsement of an exceptional activity.
