Hyderabad: The Election Commission team of officials will be arriving here for a three-day visit on October 22 to take fresh stock of poll preparedness with the officials concerned.
According to a media release here, the EC team will take up field level tours in the districts and focus on the polls preparedness and hold parleys with the political parties in the fray. The team’s visit gets importance as Telangana is going to Assembly polls on December 7. On the first day of its arrival, the EC officials will hold a key meeting with all political parties for about two hours on October 22 from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm. On the same day, the team will also have a meeting with CEO Rajat Kumar and State police nodal officials.
On October 23, the EC team will hold a video conference with SPs, DEOs and others of all districts. In addition to a meeting with DG (IT) and Enforcement officials next day, the EC team will hold a key meeting with Chief Secretary SK Joshi, DGP Mahender Reddy and other top brass of the State government. The EC will address the media on October 24 before leaving for Delhi at noon.
