EC stalls implementation of Minority Welfare schemes

Election Commission has stalled implementation of Minority Welfare schemes since the Model Code of Conduct is in force, in the wake of of Lok Sabha, assembly and local body polls. The ongoing schemes of Minority Welfare Corporation can’t be implemented. Chief electoral officer issued directions to Minority Welfare Department in this connection.

Electoral officer on the basis of guidelines of Election Commission of India clarified that any scheme which is related to individual benefit of the beneficiary can’t be implemented. After the direction of Election Commission implementation of the ongoing schemes of Minority Finance Corporation and Urdu Academy will be stalled.

As the Model Code of Conduct is in place, release of 4th quarterly budget of minority welfare is also obstructed. The subsidy of bank-linked loan scheme will also be released after the end of model code of conduct.
