Kolkata, February 04: The Election Commission would review every parameters required for conducting a free and fair elections before announcing the schedule for the West Bengal Assembly polls, a senior EC official said today.
“The parameters are requirement of polling personnel, EVMs and their checking, security and central forces to maintain law and order, process of model codes, requirement of polling materials and assessment of expenditure, etc,” Deputy Election Commissioner, Vinod Zutshi told reporters.
He was speaking to the media after the end of his three-day visit to West Bengal.
Zutshi said he had talked to the administration and EC officials about the preparedness of the state for holding the Assembly elections.
“Micro-management in each district was assessed and the EC extended help to those districts who lag behind in poll preparedness,” he said.
