The Election Commission of India on Thursday permitted the Andhra Pradesh Government to perform ‘Bhoomi Pooja’ for construction of Amravathi, the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh.
The ECI also permitted the State Government to lay foundation of AP State Agriculture University. It also gave nod for presentation of a report card on the achievements of the new government during one year period by the Council of Ministers on June 8.
However, the ECI has given the permission on certain conditions. The ECI said that there shall be no promise or announcement of any new scheme/programme for local authorities or local members during the event. (INN)
