MLC and senior Congress leader Ponguleti Sudharkar Reddy on Wednesday termed the Centre’s ranking on the ease of doing business which put Telangana on the top as bogus and misleading.
Speaking to media persons, Ponguleti said that the rankings were against the realities and demanded the state government to release white paper on the number of industries that were established in the state and the GDP figures. He also demanded the state government to release the scenario of service and manufacturing sector. He questioned the government as to why the state turned into a fiscal defect state when it was a fiscal surplus state during the state formation two years ago. He demanded that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to reveal all the details on the state’s progress, as claimed by the government, on the floor of the Legislative Assembly.
The Congress leader came down heavily on the TRS leader saying that it has become a fashion to the ruling party leader to criticize the Opposition when questioned about the government’s irregularities and corruption.
With regard to the deaths due to Dengue in Khammam, the Congress leader slammed the health minister saying that he was misleading the people by claiming that there were only two Dengue related death when actually over 20 people succumbed to the disease. He demanded the state government to conduct a judicial probe on the Dengue deaths in the state bring out facts. He also challenged the health minister to resign if his statement on Dengue related death was proved wrong. (INN)
