Giving a major relief to five lakh engineering and medical
aspirants, the State Government on Monday announced that it would declare the
EAMCET-2012 marks and ranks on June 30.
The government took this decision in a high-level meeting of Education Department
officials chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha at the State
Secretariat. Talking to media persons after the meeting, Rajanarasimha said that the
government would announce EAMCET ranks and marks on the same day on June
30. He said that the government took this decision to prevent migration of students to
engineering colleges of other States.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the dates for counselling too would be announced on
June 30.
Controversy arose when the education department officials told that the government
would announce ranks of EAMCET in July only after revaluation of those senior
intermediate students who attended Advanced Supplementary Examinations. Earlier,
the government stated that it would announce results of EAMCET by June 17 after the
announcement of inter supplementary examination results.
About five lakh students are anxiously waiting to know their fate in the engineering and
medical stream.
