EAMCET notification on February 5

Hyderabad, January 27: The EAMCET-2011 notification will be released on February 5 and the final decision will be taken on Saturday after the EAMCET Committee meeting. The exam, however, will be held on May 8 this year.

Officials said the notification will carry a clause about the mandatory 50 per cent marks to be obtained in Intermediate exams as per AICTE new norms. “We are incorporating the clause as the government wants to get a letter officially from the AICTE before implementing the norm.

Moreover, an order will also be issued by the government adopting the same so as to avoid legal problems,” an official said.

Senior officials from the government and authorities from JNTU-Hyderabad, which is conducting the EAMCET, are planning to go to New Delhi on February 1 to meet the AICTE officials and get a written statement from them about the 50 per cent issue. Last year 10 per cent of students who qualified in the engineering stream scored below 50 per cent marks in Intermediate while it was 9 per cent in the medical stream.
