Each taluka in Gujarat will have a court: Modi

Ahmedabad, March 14: Taluka level courts will be set up in all the 225 blocks of the state during the Golden Jubilee year of Gujarat, Chief Minister Narendra Modi announced today.

Modi was speaking at a function organised in the Gujarat High Court campus here to observe the 50 years of the Bar Council of Gujarat (BCG).

Addressing a huge gathering of lawyers from across the state, Modi said that there was a need to strengthen the legal system.

“To ensure that every person gets justice through the legal system, the government would set up courts at taluka levels in all 225 blocks of the state during the Golden Jubilee year of the state,” Modi said.

The Chief Minister further announced that an e-library would be set up for all bar associations at taluka levels.

Modi said that to strengthen the legal system, the government has already set up institutes like National Law University and Forensic Science University which would complement the system and provide the required human resources.

Over 3500 lawyers, representing all the bar associations in the state, attended the function which was held in the Gujarat High Court campus.
