Dy CM urges all parties, dalits to drop chalo assembly

Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Rajanarasimha on Sunday appealed for withdrawal of Chalo Assembly proposed by all parties and Dalit bodies on March 26 for effective implementation of SC, ST plans.

Speaking to the media in the Secretariat here, Rajanarasimha, along with Dalit MPs, said that they would strive for proper implementation of SC, ST sub-plans. He assured that they would discuss with the Chief Minister on setting up of a nodal agency to ensure implementation of SC, ST sub-plans like in Karnataka and Maharshtra. He also assured that they would see that SC, ST funds were not diverted to other purposes. The State government was giving top priority to welfare of the SCs and STs, he reminded.

Stating that they would take the responsibility that SC and ST funds are not diverted, he appealed to the Dalit bodies to withdraw the Chalo Assembly planned on Monday. (NSS)
