Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari said that despite development and so much of advancements, the evil of untouchability still prevails in the Indian society.
Speaking after flagging off “Run for Caste Free India” at Necklace Road on the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar here on Thursday, the Deputy CM said all sections of the society should unit to eradicate untouchability from the society. He said Dr. Ambedkar had laid the foundation for a society free from all evils. He said he provided reservations for all backward and weaker sections to ensure their development.
The programme was also addressed by Minister Jagadish Reddy, Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram and other prominent personalities. (INN)
