Deputy Chief Minister C Damodar Rajanarasimha on Sunday ridiculed the allegations of YSR Congress party leaders that Congress party was responsible for the arrest of Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Talking to reporters at Visakhapatnam airport, Rajanarasimha said that the people should understand as to why Jaganmohan Reddy was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation. He said Jagan was put behind the bars for his alleged involvement in serious economic offences. He said Jagan was not arrested for fighting for SC, ST sub-plan, BC quote, fee reimbursement scheme, women or dalits’ rights or any other public issue.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that Jagan’s arrest was not related to any public issue. Instead, Jagan was arrested by the CBI for the illegal investments that he got from various people into his companies.
Rajanarasimha said that the people should understand the reasons behind Jagan’s arrest and decide whether his party deserves their votes. He reiterated that the Congress party or government was not related to Jagan’s arrest.
He appealed to the people to vote in favour of Congress candidates in the ensuing by-elections to be held on June 12.
