The first deputy chief minister of newly formed Telangana state Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali bowed down before Allah as soon as he took charge of his post. He has got the privilege of getting the portfolio of revenue department besides being the first deputy chief minister of Telangana. Never in the history of united Andhra Pradesh had any Muslim leader nominated for the post of deputy chief minister. He is the only minister in the cabinet who belongs to council.
Soon after the informal meeting of the cabinet in secretariat Mr. Mahmood Ali reached historical Makkah Masjid and offered namaz-e-shukrana (prayer of thanks). Other minority leaders were also present along with him. He was warmly welcomed by the old city residents. Makkah Masjid workers apprised him of their problems.
