Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Monday launched the helpline ‘Madad’ to provide assistance to the beneficiaries of ‘Shaadi Mubarak’ scheme.
Speaking to media persons later, the Deputy CM said that the ‘Madad’ helpline number 040-24760452 would provide necessary guidance to the beneficiaries of ‘Shaadi Mubarak’ scheme through which the State Government aims to provide Rs 51,000 to the girls belonging to minority communities at the time of their marriage. He said the previous governments used to perform 300-400 marriages annually. But the TRS Government aims to provide Rs 51,000 each to 20,588 beneficiaries this year.
Mahmood Ali said that the scheme is applicable from October 2 and therefore, all marriage performed on or are after October 2 are eligible to apply for the same. He said, in exceptional cases, applications for marriage within a week would also be considered. He assured that there would be intermediaries or middle man in the implementation of the scheme.
Minority Welfare Director MJ Akbar, Telangana Minorities Finance Commissioner MD Prof SA Shukoor and other officials were also present on the occasion. (INN)
