Dy CM gives awards to Best Urdu Teachers, Students

Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali presented the Best Urdu Teachers Awards and the Best Urdu Students Awards, instituted by the Telangana State Urdu Academy,  at a function held at Indira Priya Darshini Hall, Public Gardens here on here on Wednesday night.

 

Altogether 47 Teachers right from the Primary School to the University level and 59 students were selected for the Awards from all the districts of the State. The awards were presented on the occasion of 128th Birth anniversary of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy CM said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao has keen interest for the educational development of the minority communities and the Urdu language. On his instructions the State Government had opened 71 Residential schools for minorities in the state and it is planned to open more and more schools in the coming days, he said and added that the Chief Minister is a Messiah for the Muslim communities and a great personality for them. He said that Sir Syed Ahmed Khan had opened his educational institution with just 70 students, while KCR had opened minorities Residential Schools with 14,800 students.

 

Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy paid rich tributes to the sweetness of Urdu language and said that Hyderabad and Urdu are complementary for each other. Urdu language has both the power and the sweetness.

 

MLCs Farooq Hussain, Mohammed Saleem and M.S. Prabhakar  Rao, Nampally MLA Jaffer Hussain Meraj and Minorities Welfare Department Secretary Syed Omer Jaleel, in their speeches, highlighted the importance of education and urged the teachers and the students to work hard to develop the Urdu language.
