Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Wednesday announced that a meeting would soon be convened with scholars, clerics and caretakers (mutavallis) on the issue of protection of Waqf properties. Talking to press persons following his visit to minority institutions deputy Chief Minister said that minority welfare, education and economic growth of minorities were government’s top priorities. This was the reason that the government allocated a budget of 1030 cr for minority welfare as per the promise. He informed that he would spend whole in Hajj House once a month and would review the performance of minority institutions. Besides that public grievances would be heard.
Government is keen to improve the performance of minority institutions, maintain discipline among staff and promote work culture so that government schemes could be implemented with transparency, he said.
