Deputy Chief Minister C Damodar Rajanarasimha on Tuesday expressed confidence that the Congress party would win majority of seats in the ensuing by-elections.
Talking to reporters while participating in the by-elections campaign in Pratipadu assembly seat, Rajanarasimha accused the YSR Congress party leaders of imposing the elections upon the people by ignoring their welfare. He said that the common people were aware as to why Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy was arrested and put behind the bars. He said some leaders were supporting the corrupt leaders like Jagan while not giving importance to the welfare of general public. Therefore, he said such people would be rejected by the people and the Congress party would win a majority of seats.
Rajanarasimha said that only Congress party could take up the welfare of Dalits, minorities and women in the State. Citing his own example, he said the Congress party has made him, a Dalit, the Deputy Chief Minister. He said no other party could give such primary posts to Dalits.
The Deputy Chief Minister also informed that the government would conducted district-wise meetings to discuss SC, ST sub-plans after the by-elections. (INN)
