Government Nizamia General Hospital popularly known as Charminar Dawakhana is a Unani hospital near the historic Charminar. Established during the reign of Nizam, the hospital is in sorry condition today.
No doubt the condition of Charminar Shifakhana Unani is very pathetic. Immediate measures must be taken to improve the condition of the hospital. State government will take necessary measures to conserve the Shifakhana Unani Charminar, said Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali during his first visit to the hospital along with Health Minister K Lakshma Reddy. He held Andhrite rulers responsible for this condition of the hospital.
Both the ministers were informed that the services of labour room and operation theatre are paralysed for the past three years. The patients are directed by the hospital administration to other hospitals.
Local MLA along with ministers, district collector Mr. Rahul Baweja and TRS members were present on the occasion in large numbers.
