Dubai Police help stranded labourers return home

Dubai, January 24: The Dubai Police in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour have made arrangements to sent back 850 workers to their home countries after they got stranded in Dubai as the firm they worked went bankrupt.

Dr Mohammed Abdulla Al Murr, Director of General Department for Legal and Police Affairs, said the labourers were stranded after the manager of the firm fled the country with money.

The police officials called the company officials who agreed to pay Dh950,000 to buy tickets for the labourers to travel back to their countries, he said.
