Dubai, February 03L The Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI), a leading centre of law studies and judicial training in the emirate, on Tuesday honoured its major partners who contributed to the success of the institute’s strategic plan for 2010.
Attendees included Judge Dr Jamal Al Sumaiti, DJI Director-General, Dr Ahmed bin Hazim Al Suwaidi, Director-General of Dubai Courts, Judge Hassan Muhaimed, Director of Ras Al Khaimah Courts Department, in addition to Directors-General of various Dubai Government departments, a number of judges and various representatives from leading media, government and private organisations.
Honorary plaques were distributed to prominent media and government bodies, including the Dubai’s Attorney-General, Dubai Police, Dubai Courts, Military Justice, the Ras Al Khaimah Courts Department, the DIFC Courts and the Directorate of Military Justice.
Dr Al Suwaidi lauded the integrated judicial training programmes which, he said, are based on the highest international standards and application of best learning techniques aiming at building human resource capabilities while reaffirming the role of law in building the UAE society.
“The DJI draws inspiration from the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, of enhanced government integration and closer collaboration among governments, private and educational institutions towards an integrated knowledge-based society,” he said. The institute was established in 1996 to help educate and train aspiring judges, prosecutors and their assistants, legal experts and lawyers. DJI also offers training programmes for public prosecutors to enhance their efficiency.
