Dual policy of Govt.: Haj subsidy abolished, subsidies for Jerusalem, Manasarovar continue

Hyderabad: President of Minorities Cell of Congress in Telangana State, Mohammed Khaja Fakhruddin expressed his surprise that BJP has taken revenge with the Muslims by abolishing Haj subsidy but the subsidy for visiting Jerusalem continues. He further told that Government took this decision to appease Christians in the wake of elections in Nagaland Assembly where their votes are deciding factors.

He pointed out that Minority Affairs Minister, Mr. Abbas Naqvi had welcomed and defended the move taken by Central Govt. for the abolition of Haj subsidy and announced that Rs. 700 crore saved from Haj subsidy would be spent on minorities education whereas only Rs. 505 crore has been enhanced in minorities budget. Rs. 700 crore has not been included in the budget.

Mr. Fakhruddin further told that all subsidies whether for Muslims or Christians should be abolished. There should be uniform policy. He pointed out that subsidy for the Hindus to visit Manasarovar continues. He further told that BJP is interfering in the religious matters of the Muslims. Congress will not allow BJP doing this.
