Gurgaon, April 07: A 20- YEAR- OLD girl was raped by five men in Gurgaon, after she was abducted near her home in Delhi’s Bijwasan area as she waited for an auto- rickshaw.
The incident took place early on Sunday. Mona ( name changed), a correspondence student of Delhi University ( DU), was waiting for an auto around 8 am when two men — identified as Sonu and Rishi — passed her in a Maruti car.
In her statement to the police, Mona said Sonu and Rishi took a U- turn at the end of the road and drove back to where she stood. They then got out and dragged her into the car. Inside the vehicle, they gagged her and drove to a flat in Gurgaon, the police said.
According to Mona’s statement, three more men were waiting at the house. It was there that the girl was raped by all of them. Mona suspected all five to be in their early twenties.
Two of the men already at the house have been identified as Chunmun and Vikas.
“ Her ordeal continued till almost 3pm on Sunday, when she was dragged back into the car in a semi- conscious state and dumped close to the spot from where she was abducted,” a police officer said.
The girl later went back home and narrated the entire incident to her parents. Subsequently, the police were informed. A medical examination conducted on Mona early on Monday confirmed the rape.
The police said they had a “ strong idea” about the registration number of the vehicle used in the abduction but no one has been arrested so far. Some of the accused are suspected to be Gurgaon residents.
“ We are working on definitive leads in tandem with the Gurgaon police,” the officer said.
