Du Plessis banks on Imran’s spin experience against India

Dharamshala: South Africa T20 captain Faf du Plessis believes that leg-spinner Imran Tahir’s experience will prove vital in the upcoming lengthy away series against India.
“Tahir has proven over the last few years that he can change a game, especially in white-ball cricket,” Du Plessis told reporters ahead of the first T20 international in Dharamshala.
Du Plessis observed that South Africa’s recent success in limited-overs cricket has been heavily placed on Tahir’s shoulder, insisting that the 36-year-old frontline spinner had gotten wickets in the middle overs despite team’s heavy reliance on pace bowlers.
“JP (Duminy), although he is seen as a part-time spinner, has had good success in the T20 format and Eddie Leie will come here and learn and to get an idea of how to bowl on these wickets and also tap into Tahir’s experience,” Du Plessis added.
South Africa will also play five one-day matches before starting a four-Test series against South Africa on November 5.
