Minorities Development Forum and Siasat daily, organised first of its kind Du Ba Du programme only for prospective brides and grooms seeking alliance for second marriage, on Sunday, January 27, from 1 to 5 pm at Mahboob Husain Jigar Hall, Siasat premises.
More than 3000 parents and guardians attended the programme. Prospective grooms themselves attended the programme. A person aged 76 years was also seen seeking registration. Men and women aged above 50 years were also among the marriage aspirants. Number of women participants exceeded the number of men. Women thronged the premises since 10 am itself. Parents of divorced girls narrated the tragedies of their daughter with tearful eyes.
Owing to the delay in marriages of their sons and daughters, the dejected parents showed their willingness to consider for those looking for a match for second marriage. The participants thanked Siasat and MDF for their valuable effort and declared it as the need of the hour.
