Du-ba-Du Program held on April 1, Zahid Ali Khan stresses on simple marriages

Hyderabad: Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily while addressing 83rd Du-ba-Du Matrimonial Alliance Program told that these days Muslims are facing educational and economic backwardness. The efforts Siasat Urdu Daily has been making to eradicate poverty and to persuade people to get education are well known. So long as education is not widely propagated and the evil of taking dowry is not abandoned, Muslim society cannot become exemplary.

This program was held at Regal Convention, Opposite Moghal Engineering College, Bandlaguda on 1st April. Mr. Shaik Sadiq Ali, Founder of Regal Group and Mr. Mohammed Moinuddin, Proprietor, Regal Convention were the guests of honour.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan further told that a survey revealed that in the Old City of Hyderabad there are more than 30, 000 girls who have crossed marriageable age. They are not getting matrimonial alliances due to the evil of “dowry” system which has crept into Muslim society.

Siasat Urdu Daily, therefore, raised a voice against extravagant expenditure in marriages and suggested that only one sweet dish and meal should be served. Even today, there are lakhs of individuals who are spending money lavishly and serving delicious dishes. He informed that he decided not to attend such marriages. He advised the people to introspect to avoid unnecessary expenses.

He expressed delight that many girls are showing interest in getting an education these days in Old City. Siasat Millat Fund arranges their admissions in various colleges.

State Govt. which had promised 12% reservation is maintaining silence now. He advised the students to apply for recruitments in the army in order to serve the country in a better way.

Mr. Mohammed Moinuddin told that after the inauguration of Regal Convention, he had a desire to organize Du-ba-Du Program. He applauded the efforts of Mr. Zahid Ali Khan and Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan and said that this program has gained popularity not only in India but also in various other countries. Parents wish that the girl with good character should be selected so that the house could become a model paradise.

Dr. Shaik Siyadat Ali told that the Muslims should look back at their past. They will find that it was very bright. Marriages should be made simpler but we have made them complicated. We feel ashamed of adopting Western Culture.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan presented the gifts of Islamic Calligraphy to Mr. Sadiq Ali and Mr. Moinuddin.

Mr. Zahed Farooqui was in charge of Engineering graduates counter. He guided the parents and guidance. Mr. Anwaruddin organized volunteers, Ms. Mohammedi and Ms. Shahnaaz were in charge of Medicine counter. Dr. Shaik Siyadat Ali looked after post-graduate counter. Others also helped the audience.

Despite the warm weather, 200 girls and 100 boys got their names registered.

For the families of various states and other countries, facilities were provided on Facebook, YouTube and Skype to watch the program. Citizens from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Doha, US, Canada, Germany, Australia, Japan and other countries watched the program on Siasat’s Facebook. The live program reached 60, 000 persons and was viewed by more than 10, 000 people. More than 100 comments were received.

Mr. Zahed Farooqui and Mr. Abid Moinuddin cooperated in providing online access to the viewers. They were assisted by Faheem Ansari, Syed Rizwan, Syed Nizamuddin, Mohammed Mazhar, Syed Azhar and others.

In addition to the matrimonial program, a separate counter was set up for providing online registration facility for admissions into Minorities’ residential schools. A separate counter was also set up for providing details about Aasra scheme to facilitate widows, handicapped and aged persons for getting pensions. Mr. Khalid Mohiuddin guided the persons.

Present on this occasion were Mr. Majid Ansari, Mr. Shahid Husain, Dr. Ayub Haideri, Hayat Husain Habeeb and others.

On girls’ counter Tarannum, Mahek, Ameena Humera, Ameena made registrations. The management of Regal Convention thanked Police Dept. and others for their cooperation.
