Du-ba-Du program: Aziz Pasha expresses concern over increasing dowry taking trends in Muslims

Hyderabad: Du-ba-Du (Face-to-Face) Matrimonial Alliance Program was organized by Minorities Development Forum of Siasat Urdu Daily on Sunday at Rose Garden Function Hall, Champapet. Former CPI MP of Rajya Sabha, Mr. Syed Aziz Pasha was the Chief Guest. He applauded the efforts of Siasat Urdu Daily for arranging marriages of the Muslim girls by discouraging dowry. He termed it as a revolutionary step for the Muslim community. He lamented on the increasing trends of taking dowry by the Muslim youths which is ruining the economy of the community. He condemned the use of band and other musical instruments in marriages functions.

Mr. Abid Siddiqui, President of MDF presided over the program. He advised the Muslims to make marriages simpler and religious practices of the girls should be main criterion for selection.

He mentioned that the suggestion made by Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily to serve only one dish in marriages is gaining popularity. There is a need for all the Muslim families to adopt this tradition to save extra expenditure.

Mr. Syed Asghar Husain conducted the program. Mr. Abid Siddiqui thanked the management of Rose Garden Function Hall. In this program, 86 boys and 160 girls were registered.

Mr. M.A. Qadeer, Working President made the arrangements. Present on the occasion were Dr. S.A. Majeed, Dr. Ayub Haideri, Mr. Anwaruddin, Mr. Syed Nazimuddin, Mr. Mohammed Shahid Husain, Mr. A.A.K. Ameen, Mr. Mohammed Barkat Ali, Dr. Nazim Ali, Dr. Siyadat Ali, Ms. Kauser Jahan, Ms. Shabana Nayeem, Ms. Farzana, Ms. Sana and others.
