Du-ba-Du program: 40 thousand girls waiting for marriage in TS, avoid extravagant expenses – Mahmood Ali

Hyderabad: Dy. CM of Telangana State, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali stressed the need for the Muslims to do away with extravagant expenses in marriages. He lamented that Muslims spend crores of rupees in marriages which results in ruining our economy.
The same amount could be used for the educational and social development of Muslims. He further said that after the formation of Telangana, a survey revealed that nearly 40 thousand girls in the age group 30-35 years are waiting to get married.

He was addressing the Diamond Jubilee session of Du-ba-Du (Face-to-Face) matrimonial alliance program at S.A. Imperial Garden, Towlichowki organized by Minorities Development Forum of Siasat Urdu Daily. He congratulated Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily and his team for resolving the delicate issues of marriages. He recalled the key role of Mr. Zahid Ali Khan and Siasat Urdu Daily played in Telangana Movement. He mentioned that Mr. KCR is a Muslim friendly CM of Telangana. He is always ready to take positive steps for the development of Muslims. In order to improve the representation of Muslims in Civil Services, he has started Civil Service Coaching program. He advised the Muslims to avail of the benefits of Govt. schemes and use their income for the welfare of the community. He told that Govt. is bearing the entire expenses of Minorities Residential Schools. TS Govt. has always done justice to the Urdu language. CM paid special attention for the restoration of Urdu medium in Dr. Ambedkar Open University.

Mr. Mahmood Ali paid rich tributes to the founder Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily, Late Mr. Abid Ali Khan and said that he was one of the close friends of Mr. KCR. The CM used to consult him on various issues. He expressed his delight that his son, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan has maintained the traditions of his father.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily and Chief Patron of Minorities Development Forum presided over the function.

In his speech, he told that due to the efforts of Du-ba-Du (Face-to-Face) matrimonial alliance program, nearly 11000 marriages have been arranged. This program is gaining popularity day-by-day. He said that the Muslims should refrain from unnecessary expenses in marriages. In order to minimize expenses in marriages, Siasat Urdu Daily launched “One Meal One Sweet” campaign which is yielding rich dividends. He applauded the efforts of TRS Govt. that it has enhanced the grant Rs. 51000 to 75000 under Shaadi Mubarak Scheme.

On this occasion, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan announced that very soon MDF will start “Pre-marriage counseling” so that compatibility of thoughts of the parents of boys and girls could be made synchronized with Islamic Sharia.

Mr. Mohammed Moinuddin, President of Federation of Towlichowki Colonies told that due to Du-ba-Du (Face-to-Face) matrimonial alliance program, the exploitation of the agents of matrimonial alliances was eradicated. This program has helped in making marriages simple.

Mr. Abid Siddiqui, President of MDF welcomed the guests at the beginning of the session and told that it is an important responsibility of the parents and guardians to select good alliances. He lamented that due to unnecessary differences of the parents, many marriages are getting delayed and most of the girls are crossing the marriageable age. He pointed out that money is the criterion in selecting the girls for marriages among the Jews. The Christians regard beauty as an important factor for selecting the girls but for Muslims, it is essential to give importance to the religious attitude and good character. He felt sorry that Muslim community, by and large, is indulging in the evils of dowry etc. which is prohibited as per Islamic Sharia.

Qari Syed Ilyas Basha recited Quranic verses. Mr. Ahmed Siddiqui Mukesh presented Nat-e-Shareef. In this program, more than 5000 parents and guardians participated. Registration started at 10 a.m. By evening the registration of 220 boys and 318 girls were made.

Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily, Mr. Irfan Siddiqui (US), Ms. Ayesha Fatima, Mr. Mohammed Zafaruddin and others attended the session. Mr. M.A. Qadeer, Ms. Farzana Begum and others made arrangements. Mr. Zahid Farooqui, Ms. Lateefunnisa, Dr. Durdana, Dr. Umme Salma, Dr. Siyadat Ali, Dr. Nazim Ali offered counseling. Mr. M.A. Qadeer Organizing President monitored the registration program. The program came to an end at 6 p.m. Mr. Abid Siddiqui thanked the management of S.A. Imperial Garden and Mr. Mohammed Moinuddin besides thanking the media especially Urdu newspapers.
