DS objects to Babu’s rhetoric of corruption: Asks him to reveal facts

Hyderabad, September 14: The APCC President Mr D Srinivas has taken strong exception to the TDP President Mr N Chandrababu Naidu’s allegation that many scams and financial irregularities took place in the State with the knowledge of the Congress President Mrs Sonia Gandhi.

Mr Naidu has alleged here on Sunday that late Dr YSR had looted the State and amassed wealth amounting to Rs.one lakh Crores during his tenure as Chief Minister, and Mr Sonia Gandhi was aware of all the doings of late YSR.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday, Mr Srinivas deplored that Mr Naidu was making false and baseless allegations of corruption against the former Chief Minister late Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. If corruption and irregularities took place really, Mr Naidu should come out with facts openly; but repeating the same false stories time and again, with the only intention of misleading the people, was not proper. The PCC Chief asserted that no financial irregularities and scams took place during the regime of late Dr YSR.

Mr Srinivas sid in reply to questions that the Odarpu Yatra undertaken by the Kadapa M P and son of late YSR, Mr YS Jaganmohan Reddy, was his personal one and Mr Reddy himself had said it many times. The Congress party has no role in the yatra. The PCC has never asked or directed any party functionaries and supporters either to join the yatra or not do so.

He made it clear that the party would extend assistance to the families of those who have committed suicide following the sudden demise of YSR on receipt of the guidelines from the AICC. It may be mentioned here that reports from Delhi have said earlier that the AICC has taken a decision to extend Rs.one lakh as assistance to each of the family affected after the tragic end of DR YSR.
