Hyderabad, April 22: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee chief D Srinivas today appointed former ministers K Jana Reddy and S Chandrasekhar as APCC observers for May 7 Legislative Council polls to Local Authorities Cons t i t u e n c i e s o f Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts, respectively.
It may be recalled that the Congress candidates MS Prabhakar and Kasani Gnaneswar had filed nominations to the two MLC seats (out of a total of three) for Hyderabad and Rangareddy, respectively. The third seat was offered to the MIM following an understanding between the two parties before the last GHMC polls.
Meanwhile, the APCC in a press release here, informed about convening a meeting at Gandhi Bhavan on April 24 at 10.30 a.m. to discuss issues pertaining to organisational elections and to chalk out a programme to celebrate the 125th year of the Indian National Congress.
Srinivas will preside over the meeting to be attended by Chief Minister K Rosaiah, AICC s e c r e t a r y and incharge of AP affairs KB Krishna Mu r t h y a n d Pradesh election authority chairman EM Sudarsana Natchiappan. Both the district and City Congress Committee presidents were asked to submit a list of proposed names to the block returning officers and the list of events for the 125th year celebrations.
