Hyderabad: Campaign against Drunken Drive took a strange turn when Hyderabad Traffic Police allegedly booked a fake case against a youth.
According to the details, Sultan Bazar Traffic Police registered a case of driving the vehicle in drunken condition. The case was registered at Kachiguda Cross Roads at 9:05 p.m. on 26th August.
Police alleged that a youth by name Syed Zaheeruddin Qadri (21), resident of Qazipura was driving Innova Car in drunken condition. The cop tested him through breath analyzer and registered a case.
The youth challenged the functioning of breath analyzer and raised an objection. The traffic police did not pay heed to his complaint. The youth lodged a complaint against the traffic police cops at Sultan Bazar Police station stating that he is being implicated in a fake case. The youth claimed that he is not a drunkard.
Sultan Bazar Police sent the youth to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) to ascertain the sanctity of his claim. The doctors of OGH examined the youth and reported that the youth is not in drunken condition.
Mr. Shanker Raju, Inspector of Traffic Police Sultan Bazar advised the youth to approach the court against the police complaint. The inspector further told that it was essential that the blood test of the youth should have been done which the doctors did not do and hence the report is not authentic.
The youth contended that he would approach the court with the necessary reports in order to plead himself innocent as he is not a drunkard.
