Drunk factory worker kills two colleagues

New Delhi, October 25: A minor tiff over drinks led a factory worker to throw acid on two of his colleagues, who died on their way to the hospital, police said Sunday.

The incident occurred in a tar making factory of Bawana area in west Delhi when Sanjay opened a can filled with acid and threw it on Dhananjay Kumar, 24, and his brother Akshay, 22, Saturday evening.

According to police, the three were drinking together in the evening and had a minor dispute afterwards.

“Sanjay then forced them out of the factory and told them not to disturb him. But the brothers kept banging the doors. It might have led Sanjay to lose control and throw acid on the two brothers, who were from Bihar,” said a police officer.

The police said the victims died on their way to a city hospital, and before they could reach the spot Sanjay had already fled.

“We think the acid fumes might have entered into the two’s lungs and proved fatal for them. But a post-mortem is yet to be conducted on their bodies as we are awaiting their parents to come down to Delhi,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Atul Katiyar.

He said a case of murder has been registered and search was underway to nab Sanjay.
