Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy today asserted that the State government would not go soft on the accused in the drugs case. “We are not going to leave anyone who were involved in the sensational drugs case”, he declared.
The Home Minister also refuted the baseless allegations that the State government had brought the drugs issue to the fore only to sidetrack Miyapur land scam. The land scam issue was not diluted and investigation was going on, he said, adding that the State government has no intention to set it aside. Nayani said the State government was very serious on the drugs case and nobody would be spared and the investigation was going on in a transparent manner. He also denied that investigating officials were harassing suspects in the case.
The Home Minister arrived here with his family members to have darshan of Lord Venkateshwara. Speaking to mediapersons on the occasion, the Home Minister rejected the allegations that the State government was trying to dilute the drugs case. Narasimha Reddy also rejected that charge that only small actors were being targeted while big ones in the film field were being let off. “There is no even an iota of truth in such remarks that the big actors were not being questioned and only small actors, actresses, producers and directors were being haunted”, he said, adding that there was no partiality in this regard and the investigation would unravel the truth. He also said Telangana was making rapid growth in every sector. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was taking the State on growth trajectory like no other State in the country, he added.
Earlier, the Home Minister received a police salute and welcomed by the temple officials. Arrangements were made for his accommodation at Tirumala. Along with family members, Narasimha Reddy will take VIP darsahan of Lord Balaji on Monday morning. (NSS)
