Drug racket busted in Hyderabad, 179 kg party drugs seized

Hyderabad: In an illegal drug racket, 179 kg of Ephedrine was seized by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in a raid that took place on Tuesday.
The incident took place in Hyderabad’s Bollarum, IDA. While the media was informed on Wednesday.
The value of the drugs in the international market is reportedly estimated over Rs 5 crore, quotes the News Minute.
The DRI also seized other raw materials and arrested two in this connection, however, they did not reveal the identities of the accused. The further investigation is on.
Ephedrine is a Schedule-A controlled substance under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act 1985. It is a chemical precursor in manufacturing methamphetamines, which are party drugs.
