Maharashtra: Kamalibai has made the most profound statement of her times, describing in a nutshell the devastation brought down on the nation by the anti-human policies of Modi government, Kamalibai is a destitute nomad in Osmanabad of drought-hit Marathwada.
Talking to DNA she said “Thanks to the beef ban no one wants to buy her (cow). Since I can’t sell the cow I had to sell my daughter Kaveri”.

Kaveri was dedicated as devdasi to Goddess Yellamma in a centuries old tradition started by upper caste men for lower caste girls. Later these girls either become slaves to rich men or prostitutes. Once their hay days are over and they can no more please the male instinct they have to resort to begging or pimping for younger girls.
The Beti Bachao and Selfie with Daughter PM has proved that rhetoric is what it is. His 56″ chest is a mute spectator when 9 and 10 years old girls are being sold into flesh trade, as a direct result of his Government’s policies and irresponsibility.
Irresponsibility which manifest itself in the ignorant statements of his officials like MK Kulkarni, Belgaum district officer of Devadasi Rehabilitation Programme regarding dedication of girls as devdasis which is officially illegal since 1984:
“We have not had any such complaints. Our officials and the temple priests are vigilant. We immediately inform the police and take the child into protective custody if we get details.
‘I don’t think any of the senior devdasis who’ve seen the misery of their life will push their children into this hell’ he said.
Mr.Kulkarni’s age of innocence has lasted longer than it ought to have been.
To set the record straight for Kulkarni there are about 50,000 devdasis as per the data of union ministry of women and child development.
On 26th May, two years of Modi sarkar will be celebrated in an event titled Zara Muskura Do. A series of short films will be screened at the event showing Modi’s achievements in two years.
An achiever indeed Modi is, being a PM of an imaginary superpower where 330 Million people are on verge of starvation, girls are being sold in place of cattle to feed families, and the government machinery is chronically constipated for preventive measures on both the fronts.
According to Rajendra Singh, water conservationist and winner of Stockholm Water Prize 2015 ‘India’s drought is ‘man-made’, a result of non-seriousness about water scarcity.
‘You have reserve police, you have reserve army, but you have no reserve water. This is the biggest policy failure’ says Rajendra Singh.
Economist H M Desarda former member of Maharashtra State Planning commission said that the drought is an ideological failure.
Stuck between an ideological failure and an ideological madness are thousands of innocent young girls.
