Drivers and conductors at Imlibun bus station compelled to sleep on platform

Hyderabad, January 8: Bus conductors and drivers of RTC buses coming to Imlibun bus station at the capital city of Andhra Pradesh from various districts and nearby states face hardship during night halt. Hundreds of drivers and conductors making night halt at Imlibun bus station situated on the foot of Moosi River have to bear foul smell and mosquito bites. They complained that there is a threat of their health being affected. They told that demands have been made since long to provide rest room facility at alighting point but least interest is being taken due to which they face a number of hardships.

They further stated that neither RTC labour union nor corporation officials are paying heed to the matter.

It may be mentioned here that nearly 3500 buses arrive at the said bus station daily on which 1.45 lakh passengers take their journey.

The drivers and conductors set off early in the morning after halting here at night. But thanks to the mosquitoes they are not able to sleep properly and they are compelled to drive in sleepy condition in the morning, which may cause a threat to the passengers.
