To ensure error-free electoral roll, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), on the directives of the Election Commission of India, will be organising door-to-door visit by Booth Level Officers (BLO) in 7,000 polling station areas from Monday.
The prime objective of the exercise is to make the electoral rolls foolproof by getting rid of duplicates, non-existent electors, ineligible voters and deletion of name from previous address at the time of registration at a new address.
The exercise would be completed by month-end. The programme will be taken up in 24 assembly constituencies. The BLOs will obtain Aadhar and Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) details.
Somesh Kumar, Commissioner, GHMC, said that in the first phase between April 13 and 18, the BLOs will obtain the EPIC and Aadhar details and from April 19-25, the left over houses due to some or other reason will be taken up.
The citizens can seed the Aadhar with EPIC by Calling the GHMC toll free numbers 21 111 111 and 155304 or CEO toll free number 1950. Electors can make corrections when officials are on a door-to-door survey.
