Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) arranges for drinking water in the city. Water is supplied for 1 hour at some places while at other places it is supplied for 2 to 3 hours. Lakhs of rupees is spent by the department to provide the people with this basic necessity. But the department does not take note of water getting wasted, as a result thousands of litres of water go wasted. Discharge of water on the roads and in drains is a common sight in the city. Water discharge from the water pipeline at Arman hills and Eturu colony is the clear example.
When the city is witnessing frequent protests demanding regular supply of drinking water thousands of litres of water are discharged on the roads and in drains.
