Dreamliner arrives at Bangalore International Airport

The Air India’s newly acquired boeing 787 Dreamliner was given a water cannon salute as it touched down in IT hub at Bangalore International Airport for the first time today. The Dreamliner, carrying 173 passengers, touched down almost two hours late following a technical glitch. According to Air India sources there was trouble with airconditioner. The aircraft aimed to boost Air India’s coffers would initially fly in domestic schedule before it is pressed into international operations. The Dreamliner that landed here was first of the 27 aircraft ordered by Air India with Boeing. The heavily loss making national carrier is on a turn around mode and is expecting the full commercial operation of Dreamliner to improve its top and bottom ends. The Dreamliner made its first flight to Delhi from Chennai and later Bangalore in the evening. Air India also took delivery of the second aircraft which landed in the National Capital Delhi today. Union External Affairs Minister S M Krishna was among the 126 passengers who flew to Delhi from here in the Dreamliner. UNI
